Newsletter Archive: Lost Souls Find Jesus through Open Air Preaching – 9/06/2006

For many years, the newsletters for Open Air Outreach were only published through email. Those newsletters were not posted online. We are now in the process of archiving these old newsletters online so that they are available to the body of Christ at large to read and be encouraged and edified by them.

The contents from this post was an email newsletter sent out on 9/06/2006

Large crowds gathered all week at Mizzou University, sometimes reaching 500+ people, as we preached, “REPENTANCE towards God and FAITH in Jesus Christ”

The man on the “”right” had quit the temper towards preachers. Though he claimed to be a Christian and an Evangelist, it was not uncommon for him to threaten us with physical violence for preaching about sin, judgment, and Jesus Christ

Much Needed Punch
God Saves A Soul
While preaching against sin on campuses, and mans need for repentance, even “Christians” try to defend themselves, excusing sin in their life
Somtimes, to change the focus from them, they put the attention on us.
“You’re not doing any good. You’re turning people off. You’re doing more harm then good. You haven’t reached a single person all week!”
During one of these encounters, a student next to me heard the conversation and immediately said:
“That’s not true! They are doing a lot of good. They reached me this week! Their preaching was a much needed punch in the gut to wake me up! They aren’t trying to tell people what they want, but what they need. They are preaching the bible, and that’s why you don’t like it!”

Crushed With Conviction

God Saves A Soul

While working the late shift (night life preaching) in Missouri, one person came under heavy conviction. Within moments, he went from mocking and scoffing, to being terrified and afraid.

It was as though the fear of the Lord literally fell upon him. Every word I spoke ministering to him seemed to hit him with a crushing blow.

I continued to speak the bible to him, telling him what God says about him and his sin, until he could hardly look me in the eyes anymore, but when he did, he was on the verge of tears!

The Lord was working on this teenager, who only minutes before was boasting of having received 6 felonies by the age of 15.

But as the Lord was working on him, I felt it was time to leave him to the Lord. I said, “You need to get down and seek God to see if He has any mercy for you.”

So he fell down, in front of everyone, and prayed for about 5 minutes, seeking God’s mercy, until his girlfriend came over. Her first words after seeing him was, “honey, what’s wrong?” His outward appearance clearly showed that God was working on him inwardly!

The Lord was moving on Him. The Holy Spirit convicted him of his sin, he sought after the Lord in prayer for mercy, and I believe he was saved that night!

Physical Letters 4 You

$2 Support Makes The Difference!

The campuses are back in session!

This school year, we are hoping to reach more campuses then ever before with the message of Jesus Christ.

But we do need the help of other Christians with a desire to see others saved.

If everyone on this list, sends a $2 gift, we’d have enough to start off this school year on the campuses.

$2 may not seem like much to you, but it certainly does all add up for us, and makes the ministry possible.

Our paypal was down for a short time, which did hinder some of our support during the summer, but is not up and running again.

If you see a ministry like this one to be part of the need of this hour, feel free to send a $2 gift or however much the Lord lays on your heart.
